Automation Engineer

About the role

As an Automation Engineer at TE Connectivity, you will ensure the reliability, safety and efficiency of plant equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Production, Quality, EHS and Facilities teams to minimise downtime and optimise asset performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned preventive (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and control‑system issues.
• Maintain accurate CMMS data, including work orders, spare parts and failure codes.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Support utilities such as HVAC, compressed air, boilers and water systems.
• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
• Drive reliability projects, TPM initiatives and other continuous‑improvement activities.
• Plan schedules, monitor PM/CM performance and report results using IFS.
• Manage projects and follow‑up with stakeholders.
• Participate in a rotating 24‑hour on‑call rotation for emergencies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering (Industrial, Automation, Electronics); plastics or injection‑moulding knowledge is a plus.
• 2–4 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use electronic testing equipment and troubleshoot PLCs and instrumentation.
• Good problem‑solving, RCA and implementation capabilities.
• Independent time, priority and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of written and spoken English.
