CDZ Declaration Coordinator

About the role

The CDZ Declaration Coordinator will lead customs and trade‑compliance activities for DHL Global Forwarding in Morocco. You will ensure smooth clearance of freight documentation, advise customers on customs regulations, and support the team in meeting operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate customs and trade‑compliance plans to optimise service and cost performance.
• Mentor and advise team members on day‑to‑day tasks, schedules and targets.
• Research, obtain and manage permits, licences, certificates and authorisations required for customs clearance.
• Prepare customs declarations and related documents describing shipped goods.
• Process, handle and distribute export/import documents in line with regulations and internal procedures.
• Review shipped items, validate shipping dates and calculate duties/tariffs.
• Set daily operational objectives for the team, including pickup arrangements and booking optimisation.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve incidents and ensure compliance with legal and import/export control legislation.
• Maintain relationships with customs authorities and government bodies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Promote best practices and quality standards to increase efficiency and control costs.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and trade‑compliance processes.
• Experience in coordinating customs declarations and documentation.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to problem‑solving and incident resolution.
