Customs Runner Agent – Marrakech

About the role

The Customs Runner Agent supports DHL's customs clearance operations in Marrakech, ensuring shipments move smoothly through customs while meeting regulatory and transit‑time commitments. You will monitor declarations, update shipment statuses, and act as a liaison between customs authorities and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customs clearance declarations, focusing on lead time and BOS performance.
• Update shipment status in the system within 30 minutes of any change (released, inspected, held, rejected, stopped, confiscated).
• Record rejected shipments immediately with the correct system status.
• Maintain accurate clearance messages for held and released shipments.
• Notify the Bonded Area team when customs release documents are received.
• Perform customs inspection visits when required by authorities.
• Coordinate with customs authorities and internal functions under the supervision of the Customs Runner Team Leader.
• Hand over release documents and duty details to the billing team promptly.
• Escalate urgent or priority clearance cases as needed.
• Provide operational support to customs declarants, backliners, frontliners, and data entry agents.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Transport, Logistics, or Customs (or equivalent Customs Declarant qualification).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customs clearance within transport, logistics, or import/export.
• Strong command of French, both spoken and written.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customs authorities and internal stakeholders.
