Demi Chef de Rang

About the role

The Demi Chef de Rang will support the Chef de Rang in delivering high‑quality food and beverage service at Sofitel Royal Bay Resort. This position ensures courteous, professional, and efficient service while maintaining the hotel’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide attentive service in line with the hotel’s F&B standards.
• Assist the Chef de Rang with the smooth operation of the assigned section.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items and recommend suitable dishes and beverages.
• Support upselling initiatives and suggest appropriate alternatives.
• Set, maintain, and clear tables according to service standards.
• Anticipate guest needs, handle enquiries courteously, and build positive relationships.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and other F&B team members for timely service.
• Keep service stations and surrounding areas clean and organized.
• Monitor supplies to reduce spoilage, breakage, and waste.
• Report guest complaints or operational issues to the Chef de Rang or manager.
• Assist in training Commis de Rang when required.
• Participate in inventory checks of equipment and supplies.
• Undertake reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors and remain flexible to rotate across outlets.

Required profile

• College degree in Hospitality or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and appreciation for hotel aesthetics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English, Arabic, and French.
