Deputy Lab Manager

About the role

The Deputy Lab Manager will support the Laboratory Manager in overseeing daily laboratory operations at the Tanger Med facility. This position ensures quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance while driving continuous improvement across analytical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily laboratory operations and analytical testing activities.
• Coordinate effectively with inspection, operational, and stakeholder teams.
• Lead operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain compliance with Quality, ISO/IEC 17025, and HSE standards.
• Provide operational continuity support to the Laboratory Manager.
• Supervise, coach, and develop laboratory personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in petroleum, petrochemical or Oil & Gas laboratory testing.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a senior laboratory role.
• Strong knowledge of petroleum test methods, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and QA/QC practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is highly desirable.
