Electrical Engineer – Embedded Systems for UAVs

About the role

Harmattan AI is building next‑generation autonomous defense systems. As an Electrical Engineer you will design and develop electronic boards and embedded System‑on‑Modules (SoM) for unmanned aerial vehicles, including flight controllers, companion computers, and electronic speed controllers.

Key responsibilities

• Define architecture and design physical/electrical integration of complex processor‑based systems with fast memory (DDR, Flash) and peripherals.
• Create detailed schematics and perform high‑speed board placement and routing while managing signal constraints.
• Collaborate with Mechanical teams to ensure seamless board integration into final UAV products.
• Work with Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) teams to integrate sensors accurately.
• Address electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues and ensure signal integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical/electronic board problems.
• Conduct testing, integration, and performance validation to meet design and operational requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in complex electronic system design.
• Strong commitment to the company’s mission and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Design of high‑performance embedded systems (processors, DDR, Flash).
• Electronic CAD tools, specifically Altium.
• Advanced schematic capture and high‑speed routing.
• Use of electronic test equipment for validation.
• Experience with robotics or aerospace systems (strong advantage).
• EMC mitigation and signal‑integrity analysis.
