Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Join ALTEN Delivery Center Morocco as an Embedded Software Engineer, working on cutting‑edge automotive ECU software. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that designs, develops, and validates embedded solutions for leading automotive manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain unit tests for embedded software on automotive ECUs.
• Integrate software components into ECU platforms while ensuring hardware and vehicle network compatibility.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of software defects, communication issues, and ECU malfunctions.
• Use diagnostic tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS (ISO 14229), DoIP, OBD‑II and vehicle logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Flash software onto ECUs and develop UDS diagnostic services, DTCs and fault‑memory strategies.
• Analyze CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet traces to detect anomalies or performance problems.
• Support integration testing on benches, HIL systems and in‑vehicle environments.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE and automotive cybersecurity standards.
• Create and maintain documentation including SRS, SDD, design reviews and traceability matrices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Embedded Systems, Electronics or a related field.
• Strong technical coordination, planning and risk‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ programming and real‑time systems.
• In‑vehicle communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet.
• Diagnostic standards and tools: UDS (ISO 14229), ISO 15765, OBD‑II, CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape.
• Experience with AUTOSAR (Classic or Adaptive) stacks.
• Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE/V‑Model development processes.
• Ability to interpret logs, traces and memory dumps for detailed analysis.
• Use of flashing tools and HIL testing environments.
