Expert / Lead Développeur Java Backend & Kafka (H/F)

About the role

DXC Technology is seeking a senior professional to lead the design and development of robust, scalable Java backend solutions and to drive the implementation of Apache Kafka streaming platforms for large‑account clients. The role combines deep technical expertise with consulting responsibilities in a multi‑sector environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement distributed, event‑driven architectures for major clients.
• Design, develop, and maintain high‑availability Java backend applications.
• Set up, configure, and optimise Apache Kafka clusters, including topic management, streaming pipelines, and performance monitoring.
• Act as technical reference during architectural workshops, technical audits, and complex incident resolution.
• Provide Tech Lead guidance: code reviews, mentoring developers, and ensuring delivery quality.
• Contribute to DXC’s technical knowledge base and support pre‑sales activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of Java backend development experience, with several years focused on Kafka.
• Previous experience in a consulting or services firm is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, with a client‑oriented mindset.
• Proven leadership ability to guide technical teams and explain complex architecture to stakeholders such as CTOs and Product Owners.

Required skills

• Java (versions 11 to 21) and Spring ecosystem (Boot, Cloud, Security).
• Apache Kafka, including Kafka Streams, Connect, Schema Registry, and performance tuning.
• Microservices architecture, design patterns, and event‑driven design (EDA).
• SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
