Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer (UAV)

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a GNC Engineer to join its UAV team. You will design and develop cutting‑edge guidance, navigation, and control solutions that move from simulation to embedded implementation and ultimately to live flight testing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop state‑of‑the‑art navigation and sensor‑fusion algorithms for UAV platforms.
• Design and implement flight control systems, including control laws and trajectory generation.
• Build filtering and estimation strategies to ensure robust, efficient flight performance.
• Run extensive simulations (Monte Carlo, SITL, HITL) and conduct coverage testing.
• Analyze test‑flight data, refine algorithms, and improve performance.
• Support full‑stack integration of GNSS, INS/IMU, localisation, and sensor fusion.
• Maintain and evolve a flight‑proven computer across multiple UAV platforms.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace GNC systems.
• Strong foundation in control theory, estimation, and sensor integration.
• Hands‑on electronics skills, including debugging, soldering, and harnessing.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Embedded C/C++ programming.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo.
• Version control using Git.
• Familiarity with open‑source autopilots (PX4, Ardupilot, Betaflight, etc.).
