Hardware Engineer – Automotive Electronics

About the role

Valeo is looking for a Hardware Engineer to design and develop electronic boards for automotive lighting modules. You will work within a global project team, turning customer requirements into functional hardware solutions that meet strict automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electronic boards integrated into automotive lighting modules.
• Analyse customer electronic requirements and define technical and functional specifications.
• Plan, monitor and execute hardware development activities in line with engineering processes and design standards.
• Investigate technical issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions together with internal teams and suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and validate alternative electronic components to mitigate shortages and ensure product continuity.

Required profile

• Motivation to learn and take initiative.
• Curiosity to question existing practices and propose smarter solutions.
• Strong sense of ownership, even in messy situations.
• Excellent written communication, organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree.
• More than 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.
