Hardware-In-the-Loop Engineer for Body/Brain

About the role

We are looking for a Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) Engineer to design, configure and maintain HIL test environments for Body and Brain electronic control units (ECUs) within the automotive domain. The role will support the development and validation of vehicle functions by creating realistic simulation setups and troubleshooting anomalies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure and maintain HIL environments for brain ECUs.
• Set up I/O channels, model I/O simulations and implement rest‑of‑bus (SoftECU) simulations.
• Configure component and subsystem HIL simulators.
• Design and verify HIL test setups for reproducing anomalies and supporting troubleshooting activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in embedded systems, electrical/electronics, mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• Proven experience in HIL engineering for automotive applications.
• Strong team‑oriented mindset and good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• MATLAB/Simulink (experience with dSPACE toolchain is a plus).
• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet.
• HIL simulation environments and SoftECU modeling.
• I/O channel configuration and simulation modeling.
