Hostess – Guest Service

About the role

The Hostess greets guests, determines party size, seats them, and ensures a clean, welcoming dining environment at The Ritz-Carlton.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, confirm party size, and escort them to a clean, available table.
• Pull out chairs, place current menus, and provide napkins, silverware, and other standard place settings.
• Guide guests through the dining area, offering assistance and accommodating special needs.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings to optimize seating for groups.
• Check menus for cleanliness, current content, and proper presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift, following clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Monitor the dining room for seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well‑being.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies and report any incidents.
• Answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette and maintain professional language.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
