Lead Data Engineer

About the role

CIH BANK is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to head the design, automation and optimisation of its data infrastructure. The role will drive the architecture of the data stack, ensure data quality and security, and set engineering standards while collaborating closely with Data Science, Analytics and Data Management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve the architecture of the data stack.
• Oversee implementation and maintenance of the data platform.
• Automate and orchestrate data processing workflows.
• Optimise data pipelines as needed.
• Implement unit and functional tests for critical data applications.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics and Data Management teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Define and enforce methodology for the Data Engineering team.
• Ensure systematic documentation of engineering work.
• Implement access‑control rules and data‑security recommendations.
• Define and monitor data‑quality metrics across the platform.
• Benchmark data architectures and stay up‑to‑date with best practices.
• Define and maintain standards and norms for pipelines, code and operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Big Data, Cloud Computing, Data Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling and SQL querying.
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop‑based technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Python and PySpark.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies: CI/CD (Jenkins), containers (Docker) and infrastructure as code (Ansible).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively.
