Lean Supervisor

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking a Lean Supervisor to drive continuous improvement across its port and terminal operations. The role focuses on implementing Lean methodologies, supporting Kaizen initiatives, and ensuring daily management systems deliver measurable performance gains.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate Daily Management System (DMS) routines and monitor performance across departments.
• Coordinate and sustain Kaizen projects, ensuring effective implementation of improvement actions.
• Coach frontline leaders and teams in Lean tools such as PDCA, root‑cause analysis, and value‑stream mapping.
• Conduct Gemba walks, track action items, and verify compliance with the APMT Business System (ABS) standards.
• Support visual management and KPI reporting to drive operational excellence.

Required profile

• Master’s or engineering degree, or equivalent experience in operations, engineering, or trade.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar continuous‑improvement role.
• Proven ability to apply Lean principles and lead Kaizen initiatives.
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Lean principles and methodologies (Kaizen, PDCA, value‑stream mapping).
• KPI management and visual management.
• Daily Management Systems and Gemba observation techniques.
• Root‑cause analysis and ABS (APMT Business System) standards compliance.
