Payroll Analyst – Payroll

About the role

Join Amazon’s Payroll team and take ownership of the end‑to‑end payroll processing cycle for a country or business unit. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery while continuously improving processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full payroll processing cycle, including source‑to‑gross and gross‑to‑net calculations.
• Maintain payroll balances and controls at both input and output stages.
• Provide payroll accounting support and resolve complex payroll queries and escalations.
• Oversee vendor operations and act as the primary point of contact for benefits, compensation, stock options, HR services, recruitment, accounting, treasury and other stakeholders.
• Lead process‑improvement projects (e.g., Six Sigma), support country expansions and new payroll system setups.
• Collaborate with the Operational Excellence team to streamline processes.
• Participate in the Payroll Academy and other training programs to develop expertise.
• Initiate and execute “Just Do It” improvement projects.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and French (spoken, written, reading).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance or HR payroll functions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with basic employment law and payroll best practices.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, ADP or similar HR/payroll systems.
• Ability to use data to influence business decisions.
• Experience in financial/business analysis and handling internal/external audits.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology for process improvement.
