Production Manager

About the role

Supervises salaried personnel and directs manufacturing operations within the assigned area. Ensures adherence to production schedules, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Process raw materials through production and assembly operations.
• Maintain continuous and efficient flow of production by controlling material flow and tracking work‑in‑process and finished goods.
• Ensure all employees are guided in a firm, fair, and consistent manner while maintaining a safe, highly productive environment.
• Conduct area inspections to provide a safe and harmonious workplace.
• Observe and uphold all safety standards at all times.
• Train, coach, and support career growth for subordinate personnel.
• Monitor customer shipping requirements, work schedules, quality levels, and staffing needs.
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager on cost‑reduction projects, assessing feasibility and measurement criteria.
• Coordinate with service departments to resolve production problems and optimise machinery and staff utilisation.
• Assist in developing plant‑wide management objectives, profit plans, and procedures to control manufacturing costs, especially labor variances.
• Implement programs to reduce scrap, absenteeism, and improve the economic use of manufacturing supplies while ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as required.
