Project EHS Manager

About the role

As a Project EHS Manager you will work closely with the Project Manager to plan, supervise, monitor and report all environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects of the project. You will ensure compliance with internal and external EHS regulations, prevent hazards, and drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and manage the project‑specific EHS plan in line with the BU/EHS Management System.
• Identify applicable EHS regulations, assess project risks and integrate mitigation measures into the project budget and schedule.
• Set EHS targets, KPIs and monitor performance, reporting status, incidents and root‑cause analyses to the Project Manager.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety walk‑downs, inspections, audits and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Liaise with customer and contractor EHS representatives, advise and train site personnel on safety procedures.
• Escalate non‑conformances and intervene when EHS procedures are not followed.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across project phases.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of advanced experience in EHS, preferably within rail or transportation projects.
• Degree in a technology, engineering or EHS‑related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation and standards.
• Proven ability to develop and enforce EHS plans and to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
