Purchasing Engineer

About the role

Hexcel is seeking a Purchasing Engineer to support its Casablanca manufacturing site. The role will manage the procurement of direct and indirect materials, ensuring supply continuity and compliance with corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of all direct (BOM) and indirect (MRO, services, consumables) materials.
• Ensure accuracy of purchase requests and orders in the ERP system, maintaining segregation of duties.
• Coordinate raw‑material procurement with planners to meet production schedules, lead times, and safety‑stock targets.
• Monitor, analyze and report Supplier On‑Time‑In‑Full (SOTIF) performance, conduct root‑cause analyses and drive corrective actions.
• Support supplier audits, evaluations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Negotiate prices, terms and commercial conditions in line with corporate sourcing policies.
• Draft, renew and maintain supplier contracts in collaboration with Corporate Sourcing, Finance and Legal.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on spend, savings and procurement KPIs.
• Act as primary liaison between the plant and Corporate Sourcing for strategy alignment.
• Collaborate with Quality, Finance, Planning, Warehouse and Production teams to ensure smooth purchasing operations.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, competitive bidding and RFQ/RFP management.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing workflows.
• Ability to analyse data, build cost models and monitor supplier performance.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• High integrity and strict adherence to compliance and segregation‑of‑duties rules.
• Eligibility to work in Morocco.
