Requirements & Specification Engineer – Steering Systems

About the role

Scalian is seeking a Requirements & Specification Engineer to lead the end‑to‑end definition of steering system components. You will ensure technical consistency, completeness and compliance with system and OEM specifications while working within a multidisciplinary automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed specifications and requirements for steering system hardware and software.
• Coordinate with project teams to guarantee alignment with system architecture and OEM mandates.
• Produce and review documentation such as wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts, acoustic and stiffness analyses.
• Perform traceability, runtime, and architecture analysis for software components.
• Support ASPICE compliance and manage requirements in tools like DOORS/Codebeamer.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive development, preferably with VW platforms.
• Strong background in project coordination/PMO and requirements engineering.
• Solid knowledge of mechatronic systems, especially steering.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and documentation quality.
• Professional proficiency in English; German is a strong asset.
