Senior AI Software Engineer

About the role

As a Senior AI Software Engineer at Leyton CognitX, you will join a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, DevOps engineers, and consultants to design, build, and deploy large‑scale AI solutions for both internal and external clients. You will tackle open‑ended problems, make critical architectural decisions, and drive innovation across the AI product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design, architect, and develop scalable features and platforms, including APIs, business logic, databases, and security layers.
• Lead implementation of complex AI systems in production, such as RAG pipelines, LLM agent fleets, and model fine‑tuning using OpenAI, Anthropic, and open‑source LLMs.
• Champion clean‑code practices, SOLID principles, and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Define and execute testing strategies (TDD, unit, integration, e2e, stress tests) to ensure reliable deployments.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize models and services in cloud environments with robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Act as a technical advisor for clients, translating business challenges into concrete AI solutions and defending architectural choices.
• Mentor junior developers and DataLab interns, fostering skill growth within the team.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI‑enabled software with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to turn vague business needs into solid technical architectures and finished products.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to engage demanding clients and guide technical teams.
• Continuous curiosity about the fast‑moving AI ecosystem.
