Senior Data Scientist – AI & Machine Learning

About the role

Artefact is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead ambitious data‑driven transformation projects for its clients. You will work closely with business stakeholders to turn complex challenges into actionable AI and machine‑learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the feasibility of use cases and translate business problems into technical formulations.
• Define business and statistical hypotheses, build, test and validate models.
• Develop production‑ready AI/ML solutions, following MLOps best practices.
• Design and implement data visualisation features to support storytelling.
• Iterate with business teams in an agile manner to maximise impact.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and optimise data models in production.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional Data Science experience.
• Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Advanced Statistics, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Python (preferred) and/or R.
• Data‑science algorithms, statistical modelling, machine‑learning techniques.
• MLOps principles for model deployment.
• Cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS.
• Data visualisation tools.
• Time‑series analysis, causal inference, advanced statistics.
