Terminal Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for safe, efficient and reliable terminal operations during a designated shift. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will lead operational teams, optimise labour and equipment use, and foster a strong safety and continuous‑improvement culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise operational teams to achieve safe and productive shift performance.
• Maintain visible presence on the terminal, acting as the focal point for operational issues in the assigned area (vessel, yard or gate).
• Plan, prioritise and allocate staff and equipment to meet daily objectives and minimise quay‑crane idle time.
• Enforce discipline, coach employees and coordinate outsourced equipment operators.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety policies, conduct process checks and drive Lean‑based improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in container terminal operations or a comparable environment.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of container terminal operations.
• Knowledge of vessel cargo logistics and yard/gate activities.
• Experience applying Lean principles to drive operational excellence.
