Terminal Supervisor – Operations

About the role

The Operations Supervisor at APM Terminals leads a shift team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable terminal operations. You will be on‑site, visible to staff, and responsible for translating plans into disciplined execution while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise operational teams during the shift, ensuring safety and productivity.
• Manage day‑to‑day tasks, set priorities, allocate staff and equipment, and minimise quay crane idle time.
• Serve as the focal point for operational issues in the assigned area (vessel, yard, or gate).
• Maintain discipline standards, coach employees, and coordinate outsourced equipment operators.
• Enforce safety policies, conduct process checks and drive Lean‑based improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in container terminal operations or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of container terminal workflows, vessel cargo logistics and yard/gate activities.
