Accountant & Client Manager – SME Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced practice accountant to become the trusted adviser for a portfolio of SME clients across Northern Ireland and Ireland. Working fully remotely, you will combine technical accounting expertise with proactive business advisory to help clients grow and thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of SME clients, acting as the primary contact and building long‑term relationships.
• Oversee bookkeeping, payroll (PAYE & RTI), VAT returns and management accounting using cloud‑based software.
• Prepare year‑end accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Produce corporation tax, personal tax and capital gains tax computations and returns.
• Provide commercial advice, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow support, and assist with company formations and restructures.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with several years of practice experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client deadlines and deliver high‑quality advisory services.
• Strong communication skills and a client‑focused mindset.
