Associate / Senior Associate – Data & Impact Research

About the role

IDinsight is seeking motivated Associates or Senior Associates to join its research teams. You will work on development projects across Africa, applying rigorous data analysis to help governments and NGOs improve impact.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare research plans and conduct advanced statistical and econometric analyses.
• Coordinate fieldwork, supervise enumerators, and manage large‑scale household surveys.
• Develop data visualisation tools and support the design and implementation of randomized trials.
• Present findings to partners and contribute to proposal development and communications outputs.

Required profile

• Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Political Science, Mathematics, Development or equivalent degree.
• 1‑6 years of professional experience, preferably in an emerging‑country context.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills; ability to work autonomously.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including to remote rural areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, R.
• Experience using data collection tools like SurveyCTO, Open Data Kit or KoboToolBox.
