Buyer – New Product Introduction (NPI)

About the role

As a Buyer – NPI you will support the development of new products by managing the procurement of components, tools and services. You will work closely with interdisciplinary core teams, negotiate with suppliers and ensure cost‑effective delivery to meet project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Procurement within the core development team for new product projects.
• Drive time‑to‑market (TTM) targets and monitor external parts and tool milestones.
• Analyse supplier BOM costs, identify cost drivers and generate cost‑saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain full project quotation overviews and track procurement cost BOMs.
• Initiate and manage RFQs, ensuring timely sourcing decisions for NPI projects.
• Monitor supplier performance, tool progress and support the definition of economical manufacturing concepts.
• Facilitate technical reviews between suppliers and product engineering.
• Analyse market price trends for tools and parts and assess impact of design changes.
• Document lessons learned and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in procurement, process engineering or manufacturing.
• Fluent English with strong negotiation skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Experience working in multicultural, cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to read and interpret product drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and assessments.
