Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain unit‑tested software for automotive electronic control units (ECUs). The role involves integrating software components, performing root‑cause analysis of defects, and ensuring compliance with automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software unit tests for automotive ECUs.
• Integrate software components into ECU platforms, respecting hardware and vehicle network constraints.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of software defects, communication issues and ECU malfunctions.
• Use diagnostic tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS (ISO 14229), DoIP, OBD‑II and vehicle logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Flash software onto ECUs and develop/validate UDS diagnostic services, DTCs and fault memory strategies.
• Analyze communication traces (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) to detect anomalies.
• Support integration testing on benches, HIL systems and in‑vehicle testing.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE and cybersecurity requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation including SRS, SDD, design reviews and traceability matrices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Model‑Based Development.
• Strong technical coordination, project planning and risk‑management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with fluency in English.

Required skills

• C/C++ programming for real‑time systems.
• Model‑Based Development (MBD).
• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet.
• Diagnostic standards and tools: UDS (ISO 14229), ISO 15765, OBD‑II, Vector suite (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape).
• AUTOSAR (Classic or Adaptive) architecture knowledge.
• Functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE development processes.
• Experience with HIL testing and ECU flashing.
