About the role

Our client, a privately held Canadian company specializing in luxury custom‑built homes, is looking for a hands‑on Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Oakville. Reporting to the Controller, you will support day‑to‑day accounting operations in a fast‑paced real‑estate environment.

Key responsibilities

Record and manage all daily financial transactions.
Maintain the general ledger and perform month‑end closing activities.
Assist with year‑end processes and external audit requirements.
Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Prepare and file mandatory government reports such as HST and payroll remittances.
Execute various monthly reconciliations.
Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

Minimum three years of general accounting experience.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Professional, collaborative attitude and ability to thrive in a challenging environment.
Detail‑oriented and organized with a “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” mindset.

Required skills

Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
