Medical Manager Rare Disease & Country Medical Lead

About the role

Sanofi is seeking a Medical Manager with rare‑disease expertise to lead medical strategy for a specific therapeutic area across the country and support the broader Africa Medical Team. The role combines scientific leadership, evidence generation, and partnership with commercial and cross‑functional teams to improve standards of care.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic business partner, initiating projects that raise standards of care and influence clinical practice.
• Lead integrated evidence planning, identify data gaps, and drive rapid execution of medical plans.
• Develop and deliver digital educational and scientific content that is timely, interactive, and innovative.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, value & access, health economics, regulatory, and clinical functions.
• Build and maintain relationships with external experts and key opinion leaders.
• Champion the patient voice in the development and implementation of medical strategies.

Required profile

• Doctorate‑level education (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent) – medical degree preferred.
• Relevant industry experience in medical affairs or clinical roles, ideally with rare‑disease exposure.
• Strong understanding of data generation across clinical development, real‑world evidence, and data‑gap analysis.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive solutions‑oriented outcomes.
