About the role

The African Genome Center (AGC) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in bioinformatics and microbial genomics to join the research group led by Professor Vittorio Venturi. The group studies bacterial cell-cell signaling within plant microbiomes, and the fellowship involves analysing genomics and metagenomics data to understand the signalling systems of plant-associated bacteria and the genomic features of beneficial bacterial strains.

Required profile

  • PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Microbial Genomics, Bioinformatics or an equivalent field.
  • Documented expertise in bacteriology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and soil and rhizosphere microbial genomics.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • A strong publication record in internationally recognised journals.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
