Receptionist - Shipboard Guest Services

About the role

This is a shipboard receptionist position focused on providing exceptional guest services at the reception desk. The role covers guest coordination, handling requests and complaints, assisting with financial transactions and managing daily reception tasks while working closely with the Guest Relations Manager and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest services at the reception desk and coordinate guests' needs so they receive the highest possible service.
• Respond immediately to guest requests, enquiries and complaints and follow them up until the guest is satisfied.
• Maintain close communication and feedback with the Guest Relations Manager and other departments.
• Assist guests with financial transactions such as cash payments, traveller's checks, foreign currency exchange, credit cards and cash advances, balancing cash handling with the Financial Officer at the end of the cruise.
• Manage daily reception duties including RSVPs, mailing service, DVD/CD rentals, newspaper lists and deliveries, restaurant reservations and wake-up calls.
• Follow the company's Standard Operating Procedures.

Required profile

• Shipboard employment.
• Preferably 2 years of experience in guest-facing, guest services or front desk work at an international 5-star or luxury establishment.
• Strong administrative ability, moral integrity and excellent fluent English (verbal and written).
• Ability to adapt to change, think quickly and make decisions under pressure while staying accurate; well organised, self-managed and able to handle multiple demands calmly.
• Advanced language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French are highly desirable.
