Senior IT/OT Engineer for Terminal Operations

About the role

Maersk, through APM Terminals, is looking for a senior IT/OT Engineer to lead the implementation, integration and continuous improvement of IT/OT technologies in a terminal environment. The role acts as a trusted technology partner to Operations, Engineering and Automation, translating business needs into secure, resilient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the IT/OT technology landscape, ensuring alignment with global standards and terminal‑specific requirements.
• Plan and execute upgrades, lifecycle refreshes and technology changes while minimising disruption to critical operations.
• Lead incident, problem and root‑cause management, delivering corrective actions within agreed SLAs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase system reliability, operational efficiency and user experience.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and development for L1/L2 engineering and shift teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in IT/OT or industrial technology engineering within a complex, mission‑critical environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across Operations, Engineering, Automation, IT, Cybersecurity and senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and technical teams simultaneously.
• Experience in a 24x7 terminal or similar industrial setting is highly desirable.
