Tooling Engineer – Injection Molding

About the role

Aptiv is looking for a Molding Tooling Engineer to own injection‑molded parts from design feasibility through tool build and validation. You will act as the technical bridge between product engineers, external tool makers and program managers, ensuring tools are manufacturable, on schedule and meet internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze injection‑molded part designs, run or review mold‑flow analysis and propose design changes.
• Lead tool design reviews with tool makers, challenge designs for robustness, maintainability and production cycle time, and approve tool designs before manufacturing.
• Track tool maker build plans, anticipate delays, drive corrective actions and supervise tool trials.
• Validate tools with product engineers through sample parts, dimensional checks and functional requirements, managing modification loops until part and tool approval (PPAP).
• Serve as the single point of contact for program managers, providing regular reporting on progress, risks, costs and delivery dates.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in mechanical, plastics or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in injection molding, tooling, tool design or industrialization.
• Strong analytical and structured work discipline with clear communication skills.

Required skills

• Injection molding processes and materials knowledge.
• Mold‑flow analysis expertise.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools such as CATIA, NX or SolidWorks.
• Fluent English.
