Chief Engineer

About the role

Stellantis is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead a vehicle subsystem such as an internal combustion engine, gearbox, battery, or electric motor. The role is responsible for aligning the subsystem with customer expectations and overall vehicle performance targets while delivering on quality, cost, delivery, and performance (QCDP) objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and consolidate requirements from vehicle teams, generic projects, and upstream phases.
• Propose QCDP‑related decisions to the System Chief Engineer and communicate them to management and partners.
• Approve technical definitions and specifications at each development phase, from virtual models to physical prototypes.
• Ensure alignment with make‑or‑buy strategies and lead engineering change management processes.
• Approve changes to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and monitor design, verification, and validation efficiency.
• Define and organize the project team structure in coordination with the Family Manager.
• Guarantee achievement of project milestones and compliance with standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a vehicle subsystem development program.
• Strong ability to arbitrate technical trade‑offs and ensure consistency with overall system requirements.
• Experience managing QCDP objectives and engineering change processes.
