Consultant – Forecaster / Data Scientist (Retail)

About the role

SymphonyAI is seeking a Consultant – Forecaster / Data Scientist to support demand forecasting and replenishment for a UK‑based retail client. The role combines hands‑on technical work with direct customer interaction, aiming to improve forecast accuracy and optimise planning performance.

Key responsibilities

• Generate daily demand forecasts and ensure timely, accurate delivery of forecast outputs.
• Run, monitor and configure the DFAI module, maintaining parameters and business rules for optimal performance.
• Analyse forecast performance, identify root‑cause variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Review accuracy metrics, analyse large retail and supply‑chain datasets, and suggest model improvements.
• Automate processes and support model monitoring using Python.
• Manage code, deployments and workflows with Docker and GitHub.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues and validate forecast results.
• Engage with customer stakeholders, present reports and dashboards, and document forecasting logic and updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in demand planning, forecasting models and machine‑learning techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for customer‑facing interactions.
