Data Engineer – Scala (Relocation to Portugal)

About the role

Aubay Portugal is seeking a senior Data Engineer with strong Scala expertise to join its technology consultancy team in Portugal. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining large‑scale data pipelines and cloud‑native solutions for clients across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise data processing pipelines using Scala.
• Design and implement cloud‑native architectures on AWS.
• Handle distributed systems and large‑scale data processing workloads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, performance, and scalability of production systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Senior‑level autonomy and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English (minimum B2) and French (minimum B2).
• Willingness to relocate to Portugal.
