Maintenance Engineer – Wipers Activity

About the role

Valeo is looking for a Maintenance Engineer focused on the wipers activity within its automotive production site. You will ensure equipment reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols (LOTO), conduct accident investigations and ensure environmental compliance.
• Manage daily team operations, track absenteeism, holidays and performance KPIs.
• Coordinate inductions, training schedules and on‑the‑job training to maintain high work standards.
• Lead quick‑response actions, provide technical support and apply root‑cause analysis to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and update work instructions, 5S standards and "OK Start" protocols.
• Promote Lean methodologies such as TPM, ERIM and QRQC, and participate in new equipment industrialisation.
• Monitor equipment performance through cycle‑time measurements and micro‑stoppage analysis.
• Manage improvement proposals, Kaizen cards and assist with budget preparation.

Required profile

• Mechanical or industrial engineering background.
• More than 4 years of maintenance experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong communication and team‑management abilities.
• Motivation to learn, take initiative and question existing practices.

Required skills

• Root‑cause analysis tools: 5 WHYs, PDCA, FTA.
• Lean tools: TPM, ERIM, QRQC, 5S.
• Cycle‑time measurement and micro‑stoppage analysis.
• Maintenance work‑instruction management.
