Postdoctoral Researcher – Sustainable Polymer Materials Design

About the role

The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat‑RC) at UM6P seeks a motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop predictive models for polymer‑based materials. The project combines experimental data, computational chemistry, and data‑driven methods to accelerate the design of sustainable polymers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and curate chemical databases from experimental and computational sources.
• Develop artificial‑intelligence‑based predictive models for polymer properties.
• Use models to design and optimize new polymer materials.
• Perform experimental validation of designed materials.
• Collaborate with chemists, data scientists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures, results, and observations.
• Prepare technical reports, research papers, and conference presentations.
• Contribute to grant writing and seek external funding.
• Support supervision of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.

Required profile

• PhD in Computational Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in computational chemistry techniques.
• Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High organizational ability and commitment to ethical research standards.
