Senior AI Engineer – Generative & Agentic AI

About the role

Syensqo.ai is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and productionisation of cutting‑edge generative and agentic AI solutions. You will act as a technical anchor, guiding a growing team of AI engineers while staying hands‑on with the most complex challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of tool‑using LLMs, function‑calling workflows and multi‑step AI pipelines.
• Architect Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry and Azure Machine Learning.
• Own model fine‑tuning (LoRA/PEFT, instruction tuning, prompt optimisation) and define offline/online evaluation metrics.
• Drive MLOps on Azure: CI/CD for prompts and models, versioning, telemetry, guardrails, canary releases, monitoring and cost governance.
• Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, design sessions and pair‑programming to junior engineers.
• Establish standards, onboarding processes and responsible AI practices across the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and deploying large‑scale AI solutions, preferably with LLMs.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching early‑career engineers.
• Hands‑on expertise in Azure cloud services and MLOps pipelines.
• Ability to balance technical depth with delivery speed in a fast‑moving, startup‑mindset environment.
