Tooling Technician – Lighting Activity

About the role

Valeo is looking for a motivated Tooling Technician to support the Lighting Activity. You will ensure that injection molds, stamping dies, assembly jigs and cutting wheels are kept in optimal condition, contributing to high equipment availability and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans for molds, dies, jigs and cutting wheels.
• Perform precise tooling setups, changeovers and adjustments on presses and machining centers.
• Diagnose tooling defects and carry out repairs using grinding, milling, turning and polishing techniques.
• Analyse chronic failures, identify root causes and implement technical modifications to extend tool life.
• Monitor cycle times, propose improvements to boost OEE and reduce scrap.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory for tooling components and prevent stock‑outs.
• Record all interventions, time and parts used in the SAP PM (CMMS) system.
• Update technical drawings after any modification to keep “As‑Built” documentation current.
• Participate in daily QRQC meetings and lead problem‑solving methods (5 Whys, PDCA).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations (LOTO, PPE) and lead 5S activities.
• Train operators on Level 1 maintenance tasks and proper tool handling.
