Android Automotive Application Developer

About the role

MICLA Engineering & Design is expanding its automotive software practice in Morocco and is looking for an Android Automotive Application Developer. You will create and maintain in‑vehicle infotainment and instrument cluster applications for a leading global carmaker, working on the software that drivers directly interact with.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Android applications for infotainment and instrument cluster platforms.
• Build and maintain user‑facing features such as media playback, vehicle settings, connected services, and system UI components.
• Integrate applications with vehicle data and platform services using automotive APIs and abstraction layers.
• Implement smartphone projection integration and voice/assistant interactions.
• Collaborate with UX designers to shape the in‑vehicle user experience.
• Write testable code and contribute to automated test coverage within a CI/CD pipeline.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
• Professional English proficiency for daily collaboration with international teams.
• Availability for occasional international business travel.
• Experience working with Git and within a CI/CD pipeline.

Required skills

• Kotlin and/or Java programming.
• Android SDK, application lifecycle management, and Jetpack components.
• Understanding of Android architecture beyond the app layer (services, IPC, permissions, system apps).
• Git version control.
• CI/CD pipeline integration and automated testing.
• Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or AOSP experience.
• System or privileged app development.
• Automotive HMI frameworks and Jetpack Compose or custom UI at scale.
• Vehicle interface knowledge (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, vehicle property APIs).
• C/C++ for native layers and JNI integration.
