Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

MEDINE GROUP is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager for its Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel in Medine. The role supports the daily operation and management of the restaurant so that service is efficient, guests are satisfied and standards are met. It also covers staff training, scheduling, stock control and revenue objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar outlets.
• Supervise and support restaurant team members to deliver efficient, professional service.
• Ensure guests receive prompt, courteous and high-quality service, and handle guest comments, complaints and special requests professionally.
• Coordinate service operations so that the kitchen and service teams work smoothly together.
• Support the Restaurant Manager with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring and duty allocation.
• Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, discipline and performance.
• Keep restaurant areas, equipment, furniture and service stations clean and organised.
• Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, equipment and supplies, report shortages, and help with inventory counts and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, health and safety and fire regulations.
• Help train and coach staff on product knowledge, service skills and operational standards.
• Prepare mise en place before service, monitor cash handling and billing accuracy, and carry out opening and closing procedures.
• Keep menus, promotions and outlet activities up to date, prepare reports and records, and promote teamwork.

Required profile

• School Certificate or a certificate of equivalent standard.
• National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) in Restaurant and Bar Service or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• Fluent in English and French.
