Automation Expert

About the role

The Automation Expert will join APM Terminals MedPort Tangier to design, develop and maintain automated solutions that optimise terminal operations. Working closely with architects, technical specialists and project teams, you will translate performance data into actionable automation initiatives that drive efficiency and cost reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Create, compile, clean and process data from multiple sources to support analytics.
• Lead the Automation Team roadmap, defining strategic and long‑term plans.
• Identify and implement new automation opportunities across functions.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, generate advanced analytics for productivity optimisation.
• Manage the automation pipeline, ensuring project milestones are met.
• Control and manage data produced by automated processes.
• Conduct incident follow‑up, root‑cause analysis and documentation.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and oversee vendor SLA compliance.
• Promote health and safety compliance throughout automation activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC‑based control system design, development, implementation and support.
• Proven expertise with Siemens PLCs (S7‑300) and control‑level issue diagnosis.
• Hands‑on experience using AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics.
• Working knowledge of databases (SQL or similar) and Robotic Process Automation.
• Self‑motivated, customer‑centric attitude and ability to work in an Agile environment.
