Biostatistician

About the role

The Biosciences Core Lab at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a skilled Biostatistician to support statistical analysis and interpretation of complex biological and omics data. You will collaborate with researchers, laboratory scientists, and bioinformaticians to ensure robust statistical methods throughout the research lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide statistical support for biological, biomedical, and life‑sciences projects, including study design, sample‑size estimation, and power calculations.
• Analyze high‑dimensional omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) using appropriate statistical and computational methods.
• Develop, implement, and validate reproducible data‑analysis pipelines and statistical models.
• Generate clear visualisations, reports, and analytical summaries, and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or related field (PhD preferred).
• At least two years of experience in biostatistics or biological data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies applied to biomedical research and omics data.
• Ability to communicate statistical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical programming with R and/or Python.
• Experience with statistical software, data‑visualisation tools, and reproducible research workflows.
• Familiarity with high‑throughput sequencing, multi‑omics integration, and machine‑learning approaches.
• Knowledge of version‑control systems and cloud or high‑performance computing environments.
