Chef de Partie Baker – Cruise Ship

About the role

The Chef de Partie Baker is responsible for the daily operation of the shipboard bakery, ensuring high‑quality bread production and seamless service for guests and crew. Working closely with the Head Baker, you will lead a multicultural team in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the bakery shop and daily production.
  • Direct, coach, support, supervise and evaluate bakery staff together with the Head Baker.
  • Manage production, quality and presentation of the bread assortment for daily menus.
  • Prepare production forecasts, record leftovers and control food costs.
  • Set up bread displays across shipboard buffets and ensure compliance with US Public Health regulations.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules, prepare for USPH inspections and ensure proper sanitation.
  • Handle requisition and transportation of supplies from main stores to the bakery.
  • Maintain recipe, yield and consumption records in line with company standards.
  • Ensure staff punctuality, uniform standards and adherence to time‑and‑attendance procedures.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions and other work‑related activities.

Required profile

  • Minimum two years’ experience as a Chef de Partie Baker in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or similar banqueting service.
  • Culinary school degree required.
  • Strong management skills in a multicultural, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Superior customer service, team‑building and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of personalized service standards and guest‑satisfaction evaluation techniques.
