Chief Project Engineer

About the role

Kollide Labs is seeking a senior engineering leader to own the technical direction of its creative technology platform for artists and creators. The Chief Project Engineer will work closely with the founders to shape strategy and deliver production‑ready systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical architecture and engineering roadmap across all products.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
• Make critical decisions on performance, reliability, security and scalability.
• Develop new features from concept to production and improve existing code quality and workflows.
• Collaborate with product, design, audio and creative teams to solve technical bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience delivering production‑grade applications.
• Proven ability to design software architectures and make independent technical decisions.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced startup environment and able to take significant ownership.
• Interest in music production, visual design or creative technology.

• Audio software/DSP, VST3/AU plugins (nice to have)
• AI/ML integration (nice to have)
• Interactive graphics: WebGL, Three.js, shaders (nice to have)
• SaaS or creator‑focused product experience (nice to have)
