Continuous Improvement Specialist - Trim Operations

About the role

Lear Corporation, a global leader in seating and e-systems, is looking for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist to lead and run major improvement projects in its Cut & Sew operations in Tangier, Morocco. Reporting to the CI Manager or Plant Manager, the specialist acts as a Lean expert who mentors teams, optimizes processes and keeps initiatives aligned with the plant's operational excellence strategy, covering productivity, quality, waste reduction and ergonomics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high-impact CI projects such as layout optimization, SMED, productivity improvement and scrap reduction.
• Conduct time studies, work measurement and method analysis in sewing and cutting lines.
• Implement line balancing, visual management and process standardization.
• Perform root cause analyses and drive structured problem solving for recurring issues.
• Develop and deploy standardized work and best practices across product models.
• Coach team leaders, engineers and supervisors on Lean and problem-solving tools.
• Measure and report project financial impact (labor efficiency, scrap cost, downtime).
• Support automation and digitalization initiatives in cutting and sewing operations.
• Benchmark internal and external processes to identify best practices.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Systems or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally in trim covers or seating.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred).
• Preferred: experience with SMED, VSM and Standard Work, exposure to automotive trim or textile manufacturing, and familiarity with SAP, MS Power BI or similar tools.

Required skills

• Analytical background in time studies, layout design and process mapping.
• Solid understanding of ergonomics and workstation optimization.
• Strong leadership, influencing, analytical and data-driven mindset.
