Embedded Software Engineer - Automotive ECU Testing

About the role

ALTEN Maroc, a technology engineering and consulting firm present in Rabat, Fès, Tétouan and Casablanca, is hiring one Embedded Software Engineer in Rabat. The role focuses on embedded software unit testing for automotive electronic control units (ECUs), including integration, diagnostics and validation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software unit tests for automotive ECUs.
• Integrate software components into ECU platforms and check compatibility with hardware and vehicle network constraints.
• Perform root cause analysis on software defects, communication issues and ECU malfunctions.
• Use diagnostic tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS (ISO 14229), DoIP, OBDII and vehicle logs to identify issues.
• Flash software onto ECUs with a flashing tool.
• Develop and validate UDS diagnostic services, DTCs and fault memory strategies.
• Analyse communication traces (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and support bench, HIL and in-vehicle integration tests.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE and cybersecurity principles.
• Create and maintain documentation (SRS, SDD, design reviews, traceability matrices).
• Work with testing teams to define validation strategies and ensure robust test coverage.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Master's level, Bac+5) in Embedded Systems, Electronics or equivalent.
• 5 to 10 years of confirmed experience.
• Strong technical coordination, planning and risk management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong team spirit.
• Professional level of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and real-time systems.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet.
• UDS (ISO 15765), CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape.
• AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive stacks.
• ASPICE or VModel development processes.
