Engineering Manager

About the role

Harmattan AI is building autonomous, scalable defense systems and is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Morocco‑based engineering team. This people‑focused role will shape the environment in which engineers deliver high‑impact solutions while providing technical mentorship and organizational guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day people management for Morocco engineers, including performance reviews, career development, and training.
• Lead local recruitment efforts, managing the end‑to‑end hiring process in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
• Drive the transition to local autonomy by establishing management infrastructure and processes.
• Design and implement standardized engineering processes for software and electrical disciplines without sacrificing speed.
• Assess tooling needs, prioritize solutions, and ensure tools serve multiple organizational needs.
• Contribute to organizational structure decisions and provide a cross‑functional perspective.
• Act as the liaison between the engineering team and cross‑functional leadership to align priorities and expectations.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2–3 years in a management or team‑lead role.
• Proven ability to manage and develop engineers through performance reviews, career frameworks, and skills development.
• Demonstrated experience handling large‑scale, complex projects and delivering innovative solutions.
