Engineering Manager

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and scale its Morocco-based engineering team. You will create the environment for engineers to excel, while providing technical mentorship and organizational guidance.

Key responsibilities

• People Management: Conduct performance reviews, drive career development, and implement a structured review system for engineers.
• Recruitment: Own end‑to‑end local hiring in coordination with Talent Acquisition.
• Autonomy Building: Establish management infrastructure that enables the Morocco team to operate independently with high quality.
• Process Standardisation: Design and roll out engineering processes for both software and electrical disciplines without sacrificing speed.
• Tooling: Evaluate and prioritize tooling needs, choosing off‑the‑shelf or custom solutions that serve multiple teams.
• Organisational Contribution: Influence org‑structure decisions, reorganise modules, and propose cross‑functional improvements.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the bridge between the engineering team and cross‑functional leadership to align priorities and expectations.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2‑3 years in a management or team‑lead role.
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop engineers through performance reviews and career frameworks.
• Experience handling large, complex projects and delivering innovative solutions.
